WE looked and decided on a stuffed dog rather than a bear, but I kinda knew that would happen with Matthias' love for dogs. We picked out a soft puppy with floppy ears.

He we are getting it stuffed:

And picking out a heart for it:

Now giving it a bath:

And filling out the birth certificate: (BTW we named him Puppy Dog. It was so fun!! There were a few little girls there adorning pink boas and claiming that "it was the best show EVER!!" Too cute!!

Then afterwards a few of us went to Trudy's for a good 'ol fashioned mex mart. Good times. :o)V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-9017343890716975712009-07-03T09:27:00.000-07:002009-07-03T09:28:41.592-07:00Mosquitos suckEspecially when they bite my son on his eyebrow and it itches so much that he continues to rub it therefore making it swell... My poor Bubbers!!

V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-73815508891565059432009-07-03T09:25:00.001-07:002009-07-03T09:26:33.926-07:00From Matthias' perspectiveI'm not sure why, but I ABSOLUTELY ADORE this picture. Matthias always takes my camera and snaps random shots without knowing it. But this one I feel really captures what things are like from his eyes:

V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-38820306836910934982009-07-03T09:23:00.001-07:002009-07-03T09:24:06.595-07:00So I think they like each other now...Roscoe has finally grown used to Petunia being around. They're even snuggle buddies now!!

V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-90470754022240095002009-07-02T06:48:00.000-07:002009-07-02T06:54:13.823-07:00So the new deal around our house is...no cable. YIkes!! Well here's the low down:

My wonderful hubby (i say that through gritted teeth) didn't pay the bill for some reason. he assured me that all oh "his bills" were caught up but apparently the cable wasn't (and thank God it was the only one) so the cable got cut off. I was a little annoyed at first, but not really bothered by not having it. Then we finished paying off our furniture so it was nice to have that extra money. SO I think we may have gotten used to that so we paid off the cable bill but didn't get it reconnected!! It's more money in our pockets and I'm not really missing it. AT ALL. Kinda sad huh?? So one of my odd goals is to watch every. single. movie. we. own. I discovered yesterday that some are still in the cellophane packaging. WTF?? I guess I've been buying random movies, storing them away and obviously not watching them.

So I watched a couple of movies yesterday afternoon, went for a walk, worked on Matthias invitations. Got a lot of stuff done. All b/c of no t.v. But I don't think our house will remain cable-less for long. Jason is all ready starting to gear up for football season and wants to switch to Direct TV so he can get the NFL SUnday ticket. I don't know, I guess we'll see...V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-45929261765284658622009-06-26T07:54:00.001-07:002009-06-26T08:23:16.154-07:00The Death of an IconIt's all over the media. And I can't go without saying anything about it. It's definitely a moment that will always be remembered in history. He was our Elvis. Our Beatles. But sadly, Michael Jackson has died at the age of 50.

Let's take a trip down memory lane shall we?? Because let's all face it. Thriller is the record that has sold more copies than any other album in history. I remember watching the vide and honestly being a little scared of the zombies.

But I ultimately got over it b/c the dancing was fucking AWESOME. You know you've tried to do the moves. It's THE goto song when Halloween arrives. We would have the Thrill the World event every year if that dance/song wasn't so BAD ASS.

People wouldn't perform it at their weddings if it wasn't so BAD ASS.

Let's also remember that it produced SEVEN top 10 hits from ONE album. Crazy talent my friend.

When I was younger, my cousin and I would cut out square pieces of white paper and tape them to the floor in the hallway to try to do the Billie Jean video. Oh yeah. WE WENT THERE.

And of course thre was the glove. We bought a pair of white gloves. He got one and I got one. We begged our grandma to sew sequins on them, but she never would. And my cousin always got the "right" glove. NO FAIR! *pouts even tho it's 24 years later*

I also remember going to the grocery store by our house. We rushed over to the small video section they had and alas!! there was one copy left of HIStory. We BEGGED our grandma to rent it for us. SHe finally gave in. I guarantee you when we got home and pulled in the driveway, the car wasn't even in park before we just out of the car and awaited anxiously at the door to view our new found treasure that belonged to us for however many days the rental was.

I'm pretty sure the Smooth Criminal video was on there and i thought it was the coolest thing EVER. I remember us trying to lean as far as we cold without falling down.

So in essence a piece of my childhood is now gone. All allegations of his private life aside, the man was a global icon. A musical genius. A master of dance. Truly deserving of the title The King of Pop, may you know rest in piece.V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-39281937941980941742009-06-25T06:48:00.000-07:002009-06-25T06:56:11.556-07:00Slightly IrritatedSo Jason says he working overtime this weekend. WHICH BLOWS. He's basically working the ENTIRE weekend of my birthday. And he's working ALL of next weekend so there goes celebrating 4th of July with him but I already knew it was his long week so I was planning on spending it with my mom. But now he's working that Sunday as well. So basically the next available time for us to celebrate my birthday is Saturday July 11.

I am currently pouting in case you were wondering. lol

At least I get to celebrate with my girls tomorrow when we go see Mamma Mia!!! Can't wait!V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-48677728614306568742009-06-19T08:49:00.000-07:002009-06-19T08:57:54.298-07:00Baby Shower Invites! No, not for me. For Jason's brother and wife. They are expecting a baby girl in August which gives Matthias a little cousin!!

I had the pleasure of creating her invites for her. The color scheme is the color scheme of the nursery, so it all ties together. Hooray for new babies that gave me something to do as I get bored very easily. I gave them a bunch of samples but they went for a simple card style invite. Here's some pics...

Front of the invite: Simple with single embossed stamp

Inside of the invite:

Close up in inside:
V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-6434807996254429072009-06-19T08:43:00.000-07:002009-06-19T08:46:40.968-07:00Roscoe is now "The Good One"Before he was the bad one and Rufus was the good one. (Translation: Jason mainly washed and I supervised) But Matthias was whining because he wanted to help. Whatever it is you're doing, he wants to do it too. But he's such a good helper. He really genuinely tries and it is THE. CUTEST. THING. EVER. But he's been real reserved lately. I keep asking him if he's ok, and he keeps saying he is. So I badgered him with the same question over and over. He finally said, "I just don't feel good ok?!!?"

I asked him, "Emotionally or physically?" He said, "Emotionally" I asked him why and he didn't answer, so I asked him two more times. He finally said, "I miss Rufus ok? I miss him a lot. I know Petunia is supposed to make me feel better but she doesn't yet. I like her, but it's not the same. I don't want to talk about it anymore."

SAD

So I just gave him a hug and let him put his head on my shoulder. I still miss him too. :o(V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-60812507835635222792009-06-10T09:54:00.000-07:002009-06-10T10:04:30.996-07:00I have some bad news and some good news...It's been a while since I've posted. We had a bad turn of events recently.

We took Rufus our Boston Terrier of 12 years to the vet because he seemed to have swollen legs and maybe retaining fluid. Turns out he had a massive tumor that was malignant and all of a sudden took a life of it's own. We thought we could get some meds and bring him back home. The vet informed us he was critical and wasn't sure what the diagnosis would be. He took some x-rays and called us back in the room. There was nothing we could do. It "hit him like train" and was undetectable. He recommended we put him down because surgery could not help him and he was in fact dying as we spoke. With heavy hearts Jason and I agreed that this was the best case for him so he would no longer suffer. I stepped around the table to see his little face so much more tired than he was not even an hour ago. His face pale and sad looking. I called him "Handsome" and told him I loved him. I stepped back and he stopped breathing. And he was gone.

Rufus was a Valentine's Day gift from Jason my senior year of high school. He was our first "child" my snugglebug, my lazy bones, my jogging partner, among other things. The house has a presence missing and it still sucks.

I wold like to take the time to say thank you to my friends who have been a valuable source of support. They've been there for me thru thick and thin and this time was no exception. I love yall!!

A couple of days later after a weekend of crying and moping we decided to go eat and we passed a group of people sellign some cute puppies. So desperately wanting to fill that void, I impulse purchased a toy poodle now named Princess Petunia Suzanne.

So it's a bittersweet scenario. I love our new puppy but we still miss Rufus. A lot of people say we gave him a good life and I truly truly hope we did. We miss you!!V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-4631198059138715402009-05-26T08:38:00.000-07:002009-05-26T08:45:34.359-07:00Super Long weekendI'm so not in the mood to work right right now hence my "bloggin' break..."

Friday I left work early so Jason could go get his stitches out. His cut is more of a gash now and looks better but it's going to take some time to completely close up. It will leave a bitching scar though!! Oh and we had dinner at the same place we had dinner last Friday. Too bad Jason will be going back to work again this week. I really liked having him at home. :o(

Saturday nothing exciting really happened. Jason did make some good bbq and roasted corn. YUM!

Sunday I got rid of some wedding crap which was nice. I went to a scrapbooking store and bought a couple of things. Got a couple of books at Goodwill for me and about 6 for Matthias. He loves him some story time. Jason noticed Rufus' hind leg was really swollen and now his other one is swollen. We take him to the vet this weekend. I hope it's not something serious. *prays* We're really really worried about him.

Monday I slept in really really late since I stayed up with Rufus probably worrying more than I should. Made some king ranch casserole and pretty much laid around all day. I did love the rain we got. Other than that, pretty uneventful.V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-85143513126498425312009-05-20T14:20:00.000-07:002009-05-20T14:22:43.862-07:00quotes i like"A dog owns nothing yet is seldom dissatisfied." Irish proverb

V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-29023481247376079752009-05-20T13:08:00.000-07:002009-05-20T13:12:13.794-07:00no good things in my mailboxSo my mom has a subscription to this magazine called Country Living. I LOVE it. It's got everything so shabby chic. I yearn to have a home decorated like the ones they have in their magazines. Every time I go to her house i steal her magazine, completely disregard the fact that I have a child and sit in the corner and read it from cover to cover. Sorry kid. mom needs to drool over home decor. I guess my mom took a hint and got me a subscription for Christmas. Hooray!

Well I got the first 2 magazines just fine. I went to her house 3 Sundays ago and she had the new one. So I expected to get mine very soon if I already haven't. Well so far, I've checked the mail EVERY DAY and NOTHING. WTF?? It better not have gone in someone else's mailbox on accident. grrr...V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-92020760310935919642009-05-14T09:45:00.000-07:002009-05-20T14:23:02.404-07:00Quotes I like"My goal in life is to be a person as good as my dog thinks I am." - anonymous

V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-52847551444831173412009-05-13T13:45:00.001-07:002009-05-13T13:56:48.832-07:00Tuesday nightWas going along just fine. My brother called and said he was bored so he was going to come over. So i defrosted another chicken breast for him since I was in the middle making dinner. We ate and watched American Idol. I kept telling Jason to come inside from cutting limbs but he said he was almost done. I walked back inside to use the restroom when Jason came in right behind me. He said something that I couldn't understand so he said it again and this time I heard, "I think I need stitches"

So I grabbed my purse and out the door we went. Luckily I was able to leave Matthias with my brother. As soon as we turned onto Brodie Jason says," Get in the next lane." I was like, "Why?" He says again, "Get in the next lane" I look over and realize he's about to hurl. I dart over and pull onto the street to the right. Jason barely gets the door open and vomits for like 2 minutes. Nice. Unfortunately, some got in the car including (which I discovered today) on my purse. So we get to the hospital and get signed in. I finally get to use the restroom which helps me calm down almost immediately. lol Jason gets up to get some gauze as he's still bleeding and when he sits back down, he's sweating profusely and almost passes out. Poor guy. He can't handle blood. Thank God we are in and out in a about 4 hours which is pretty damn good for ER waits. He gets 5 stitches and has to wear a splint for 10 days. He did knick his tendon but did not do any permanent damage.

Here's a pic of his wound washed out before stitches....

V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-54118763443114003582009-05-11T08:53:00.000-07:002009-05-11T09:05:39.844-07:00Mother's Day WeekendLaid back again. And those are my favorite weekends. Our original plans fell though, but that was ok by me! I could then stay home and do nothing!!

Friday night: went to Michael's to get some modge podge for a project I'm working on. Then I was really bad and got Jack in the Box. Matthias and I hung out the rest of the night and watched basketball and did laundry. I even let him stay up late.

Saturday: went to Dollar Tree to get some sprinkles and ended up getting some scrapbooking stickers and some beads and big craft button that I hope to turn into earrings. I started making some cakeballs for my mom and Jason's mom but I burned my finger really bad and it blistered so I called it quits early.

Sunday: Jason let me sleep late. He bought me some flowers. Plus I had already gotten the lamps. He offered to take me out to eat but I knew it would be packed so we just had sandwiches for lunch. Then we went to my mom's and had dinner. My step-dad grilled and it was so good. Then we watched some basketball for a while and came home. Low key and we didn't have to go to his parent's house so it was PERFECT. I must admit its kinda weird to get "Happy Mother's Day" text messages from various friends and family, but it is what it it. I'm a mom!! Weird! I know that children were NEVER ever in my life plan, but God has different plans that what we may have and I couldn't imagine my life without my chunker wunkers (aka Matthias) He's my life. My pride and joy. What I look forward to going home to every day. I mean obviously I look forward to seeing Jason as well, but not like i do Matthias. My ABSOLUTE favorite part of my day is when we have story time. And he gets all the books he wants me to read to him. And I sit on the couch and he sits in my lap and we read book after book and some of those books more than once. Because he's my Bubs. And I love him so. So I hope all the mothers out there had a great Mother's dAy b/c I know I did!!

V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-56583945930651447732009-05-05T13:58:00.000-07:002009-05-05T14:15:41.496-07:00another weekend reviewIt was a nice weekend. Very relaxed. My sister came over and stayed the night and it's always good to hang out with her. I bought Matthais some new shoes which he lost one of right away so I had to go hunt down another pair. But they're really cute b/c they almost look like Jason's shoes so dad and son match!!

Matthias had his first taste of a sno-cone which was fun. He enjoyed it VERY much.

with his shades on and a slightly blue mouth:

Being a goober:

Rufus with the shades on now:

Scraping out what's left and Rufus eagerly awaiting for Matthias to share:

With a blue tongue now:

On Sunday, i met up with Laura and Kim for Drinks & dresses. I was running behind as usual but had a good time. Time with my girls is ever dull. :o) We also determined that this will be a monthly installment. Yippee!

Then afterwards, Jason and I went to Lowe's b/c I saw some lamps I had wanted a long time ago on clearance!! So he bought them for me. I could tell he wasn't to thrilled but he knew I've been wanting them for some time. Have I mentioned I puffy heart him?? I think they're an early Mother's Day present. Which is fine, b/c it's something I TOTALLY wanted.

But then we needed to get some lamp shades and I wasn't really too thrilled with the ones they had there. So we decided to get the lamps and wait on the shades. Then I wanted to get some cheap fake flowers to fill this wall thing that used to be my grandma's. So we went to Wal-mart and they had a nice lamp shade but Jason thought it was too fancy for the bases we bought. So then I thought that Bed Bath & Beyond might have some shades and we have so many gift cards from there still from the wedding. So we went and i found some shades i LOVE. Jason ended up liking the whole ensemble!!! yippee!!

Here's the new lamps with the new shades!

(don't mind the mess on the table... focus on the lamp)

(with our beautiful wedding pic)

and the wall thing-a-ma-bob

Good weekend. :o)V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-29121227187938904882009-04-30T11:46:00.000-07:002009-04-30T11:52:02.923-07:00This weekend's goal:Try various recipes to find which Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins recipe I like best. :o)V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-43757005821789278782009-04-28T06:58:00.001-07:002009-04-28T07:05:35.823-07:00For the first time in a long time...Does that even make sense??!?!?

ANYWHO, I'm actually EXCITED about the ACL lineup!! It does help that my all time fa and will be there. I wish it was ll 5 members of DMB, but I know leRoi will be there in spirit. Pearl Jam, Kings of Leon (whom I listen to every day n the way home) John Legend (swoon) Mos Def, Toadies, Coheed and Cambria and The Scabs are among the few, I'm interested in seeing. I think that most of my friends don't like some of the ppl I've listed so it'll be tough for me to make the decision to go if I'm going to be hanging out alone. I also need to convince Jason that I want to go b/c I KNOW he won't go so that means abandoning my child for a couple of days. :o(

Either way, the prospect of going is EXCITING!V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-52114203651267961632009-04-24T12:30:00.000-07:002009-04-24T12:35:06.456-07:00Backed Up Day 2So basically all day yesterday was spent trying to find the main line of our piping. FINALLY it was found and it was discovered that tree roots had grown into the piping causing it to clog. So it was decided to reroute the piping which entailed digging a 3 foot trench along the side of the driveway. The only problem?? It's dirt on the surface. PURE ROCK underneath. Those poor guys worked until 9:00pm.

Here's the trench with the piping that will eventually go into it...

And here's the tub after the water eventually drained out. Don't ask me what the residue left behind is. I'm scared to find out...

So the guys were supposed to come back this morning and *hopefully* finish the job. *prays*V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-61497929388287077482009-04-23T06:51:00.000-07:002009-04-23T09:29:05.379-07:00Backed UpYup. That's what's happening in our pipes at home. Everything is BACKED UP. Last night a few minutes after Jason and Matthias took a shower, I went to get in and there was about 2 inches of water that had never drained. Jason went to the store to get some Drano. He came back, tried to pour it down and plunge the tub. No dice. So i went to go use the other shower we never use and to my dismay saw that it was half filled with what seemed to be dirty toilet water (ew) and the toilet had complete overflowed. EW. So while we were trying to clean up the mess in the hall bathroom, by the time we got back to the master bathroom that toilet had overflowed as well. NICE. By that point it was 11:30 so I faked a shower and washed my hair in the kitchen sink (which seemed to be really slow in draining as well) and "bathed" with a soapy washcloth. FUN!

Now we're waiting for a plumber. lalala
V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788347548708396242.post-80536365546172141552009-04-22T11:13:00.001-07:002009-04-22T11:21:30.141-07:00He luvs meSo last night after i got home from work after a long day and having to stay after work, I arrived to Jason telling me he was going to make dinner b/c his brother was coming over. I don't ming having Josh over for dinner, but him and Jason will then hang out afterwards in the garage drinking beer in their "SEcret Boys Club" as the girls and I have deemed it. Again, not a big deal, but then that leaves no time for me and Jason to spend together considering we have limited evening with his work schedule.

Once JOsh left I was all excited b/c then that meant that Jason and I could sit down and watch our regular Tuesday night t.v. line-up. But Jason said he needed to go to the store. WHAT. THE. FUCK. It was already 10:30 and I was tired and didn't want to wait up anymore. I told him (in a huff) "Fine. GO. WHatever." I tired to stay awake but ended up falling asleep on the couch. A few minutes later I awoke to him saying, "Wake up" and he was holding some roses and a card for our 2 month anniversary. I puffy heart him!!

V-Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02905990630279656798noreply@blogger.com2
